About this piece
Cast plaster forms a densely modelled running frieze of scallop shells, curling acanthus leaves, floral sprays, rosettes and paired scrolls. Raised ornament alternates with recessed grounds, creating pronounced shadows across the repeated design. Beaded curves, ribbon details and hanging flower clusters connect the larger shell and foliage motifs.
