About this piece
Cast as a broad rectangular wall panel, this figural relief presents winged female riders moving across a closely layered procession of horses. The horses project strongly from the field, with raised legs, turned heads and flowing manes establishing a continuous sense of movement. Drapery, reins, feathers and facial features are defined with crisp modelling, while deeper undercutting separates the overlapping figures. A narrow frame contains the composition. The wall panel suits feature walls, formal halls and interiors requiring a large narrative relief field.
