Cast in Seattle.
Crated for your door.
Every piece is modelled and cast at our studio in Seattle, Washington. Our own crew can set and point it anywhere in the country, or it leaves on a crate built for it, for your own fixer. There is no warehouse and no stock list — there is your drawing, your sizes and a crate with your name on it. And because the work is cast hollow rather than carved solid, it is light enough that freight across the country costs less than most people assume.
From enquiry to site
Four stages
Typical lead time is one to two weeks on the bench, plus freight. A large or heavily modelled order takes longer and we will say so before you order, not after.
01Drawn and agreed
You send sizes, a photograph or a drawing. We issue a dimensioned drawing and a price, and nothing is cast until you sign it off.
02Cast to order
Your pieces are modelled and cast by hand for your job. Nothing here is stock, so the run is made in the quantity and the lengths you actually need.
03Crated for the road
Each piece is wrapped, corner-protected and fixed inside a timber crate built for it, with the packing list fixed to the outside and the pieces numbered to your drawing.
04Delivered to site
LTL freight to a commercial address anywhere in the lower 48, or our own truck around Puget Sound. Alaska, Hawaii and international go by arrangement.
What it is cast in
Four ways to buy the same model
The model is carved once. What you take away from it is your choice, and it changes the weight, the price and how it ships.
Glass-reinforced polyester (GRP)
A glass-fibre skin over a resin body: the lightest way to carry a deep, sharply modelled profile.
Best for. Long runs, big domes and anything going up a stairwell by hand — it weighs a fraction of cast stone and takes paint like plaster.
Weight. roughly 4–7 kg per m²
Glass-reinforced concrete (GRC)
A thin, glass-fibre reinforced concrete skin — the weatherproof option, cast from the same models as the interior work.
Best for. Facades, porticos, balustrade and anything that has to stand in the rain and the sun for fifty years.
Weight. roughly 30–50 kg per m²
Fibre-reinforced gypsum
Traditional casting plaster reinforced with glass fibre, for interior work where the finish has to read as real plaster.
Best for. Interiors — medallions, cornice and relief panels that will be painted in place and are expected to feel like plaster, because they are.
Weight. roughly 9–14 kg per m²
Silicone moulds
The working mould itself, taken from our own models — so you can cast the piece yourself, in your own material, on your own site.
Best for. Casters and restoration shops who need many repeats, or who cannot import finished work but can import a mould.
Weight. varies with the model
One bench, fifty states
Crated and shipped to job sites in all 50 states. These are the states crates go to most often — if yours is not on the list it is almost certainly still fine, so ask.

International crating by arrangement — ask us for a freight quote. Work has gone to Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, UAE, Saudi Arabia and Australia; the crate is the same, the paperwork is not, so ask before you order rather than after.
Before you order
The questions that matter
How heavy is it, really?
Lighter than everyone expects, which is the point. A GRP cornice runs about 4–7 kg per square metre of face — a two-metre length is a one-person lift. Gypsum is roughly double that, GRC several times more. Weight is what decides your freight bill, so we tell you the shipping weight of the whole order before you commit.
What does shipping cost?
It depends on volume, weight and where you are, so we quote it per order rather than posting a table that would be wrong for most of them. Inside Puget Sound it is usually our own truck. Elsewhere in the lower 48 it is LTL freight to a commercial address, typically three to six days from the bench.
Is there duty or a customs delay?
Not within the United States — the work is made in Seattle, so a crate to Ohio is a domestic freight movement and nothing more. Sales tax applies in Washington. If you are ordering from outside the US, you pay import duty in your own country and we supply the commercial invoice, HS codes and certificate of origin your broker needs. Ask before you order, not after.
What if something arrives broken?
Tell us within seven days with photographs of the damage and the crate it came in, and we recast and reship the broken piece at our cost. Photograph the crate before you open it — it is the difference between a claim that settles and one that argues.
Is there a minimum order?
No. One medallion is a real order and we will ship it. But freight is the part that does not scale down, so a single small piece carries a shipping cost out of proportion to the piece. Most customers order the room.
Can I buy the mould instead of the casting?
Yes. We sell the silicone mould taken from our own model, so you can cast in your own material on your own site. It travels better than finished work and it pays for itself over a long run of repeats — which is why restoration contractors with a hundred feet of the same cornice to run usually buy the mould rather than the castings.
Tell us where it is going
Sizes, a photograph and a delivery zip code is enough for a full quote — the pieces, the crate and the freight, in one number.
