About this piece
Cast relief gives this elongated ceiling medallion a strongly modelled circular center surrounded by beading, radiating acanthus leaves and a raised central boss. Open scrollwork extends above and below, carrying layered foliage, flower rosettes, palmettes and pendant forms across the faceted outline. The symmetrical composition has crisp edges and deep shadow between the stems and leaves. This ceiling medallion suits formal chandelier or pendant settings and can form the principal ornament within a decorative ceiling composition.
