About this piece
Cast relief gives this octagonal ceiling medallion a layered arrangement of scrolling arabesques, pointed geometric frames and crisply modelled foliage. A many-petalled rosette marks the centre, surrounded by an open interlaced ring and eight radiating palmette compositions.
