About this piece
Plasterwork forms a circular ceiling medallion with a raised garland of roses and foliage around the perimeter. An open, interlaced band of pointed petals draws the eye inward to a moulded bead border. The centre is arranged as four scrolling acanthus sprays with small flowers, berries and roses around a plain round boss. Crisp changes of level separate the floral relief from the flatter geometric field. This ceiling medallion suits chandeliers and pendant lights in Victorian, classical or traditionally detailed interiors.
