About this piece
Cast in our Seattle studio, this ceiling medallion is built around a faceted eight-point center surrounded by dense, symmetrical arabesque ornament. Raised bands cross, loop, and pass beneath one another, secured visually by small clasp-like details. Curled palmettes and split-leaf forms fill the spaces between the interlaced lines, creating deep shadow and a continuous radial pattern. The defined outer edge suits placement within a circular ceiling field and provides an ornamental center for a chandelier or pendant fixture.
