About this piece
Plaster is modelled into a custom and bespoke composition with a swelling central body, tapering neck, stepped finial and pedestal base. Repeated foliate panels, floral sprigs, linked borders and low scrolls create alternating bands of deep and shallow relief. The upright symmetry gives the commission a clear architectural presence when freestanding or aligned with a wall, pier or opening. Modelled and cast in our Seattle studio, the piece reflects the hand-cut judgement used to balance projection, undercutting and repeated ornament.
