About this piece
Plaster forms this figural corbel around a muscular male figure posed beneath a rectangular top block. His raised arms frame a basket-like ornament above the head, while deeply modelled drapery wraps the waist. The lower bracket narrows into layered scrolls, curled leaves and small floral details, creating pronounced relief from top to base. The corbel has the appearance of a supporting architectural element and suits placement beneath shelves, mantel projections or decorative beam ends.
