About this piece
Plaster forms this symmetrical appliqué in layered relief. An oval centre is enclosed by a leaf-patterned border, with paired scrolls and acanthus foliage extending across the composition. Floral rosettes, clustered blossoms and fluted side elements fill the lower section, while rising leaves and inward-turning scrolls define the crest. The appliqué has open spaces between several projecting ornaments, creating a clearly articulated silhouette. It suits decorative placement on doors, wall panels, furniture and frames.
