About this piece
Cast plaster gives this full-round column a densely patterned shaft of interlocking geometric bands, narrow vertical panels and star-like crossings. A plain circular collar separates the shaft from layered tiers of pointed arcades, slender colonnettes and pierced latticework. The upper rim is finished with a repeating palmette-like crest, while the foot resolves into a stepped round base. Modelled and cast in our Seattle studio, the column suits Moorish interiors, ceremonial entrances and architectural schemes requiring continuous ornament on every face.
