About this piece
Cast plaster crown moulding forms a continuous pierced lattice between rounded upper and lower cornice mouldings. Slender diagonal members cross in repeated diamonds, with small knotted blocks marking the centre line and giving the open pattern a measured rhythm. The deep openings create a distinct shadow band beneath the ceiling. Cast in our Seattle studio, this running crown moulding and cornice suits formal rooms, period interiors and historic restoration work, with the geometric enrichment providing contrast beside more fluid floral ornament.
