About this piece
Cast plaster crown moulding and cornice with a continuous rinceau of curling acanthus leaves, open scrolls, flower heads and clustered buds. The ornament rises in deep relief from a plain recessed field, creating pronounced shadows beneath the foliage and along the overlapping stems. Restrained upper and lower mouldings frame the enriched centre without interrupting its movement. Cast in our Seattle studio, this running cornice suits formal rooms, ornate ceiling schemes and historic restoration where a broad floral crown is required.
