About this piece
Cast plaster crown moulding and cornice formed as a broad, deeply modelled band between restrained upper and lower profiles. Layered acanthus leaves curl into large scrolls around open flowers, buds, berries and clustered fruit, creating alternating areas of projection and shadow. Pierced-looking recesses and undercut foliage give the running ornament a dense Baroque character while the bordering mouldings hold a clear ceiling line. Cast in our Seattle studio, this crown cornice suits formal rooms, entrance halls and interiors requiring continuous enriched plasterwork around straight runs and corners.
