About this piece
Cast plasterwork forms a Rococo fireplace surround around a serpentine firebox opening. Quilted lattice fields contrast with the smooth inner mouldings, while a central floral cartouche descends beneath the mantel shelf. Layered acanthus scrolls, flower rosettes and curling side supports create deep relief and pronounced shadow. The fireplace surround suits formal traditional interiors and historic plaster restoration where an elaborate focal point is required. It is modelled and cast in our Seattle studio.
