About this piece
Cast capitals and bases pair a richly modelled upper section with a broad, foliate lower profile. Deep spiral volutes turn beneath the stepped abacus, while layered acanthus, curled leaves and hanging floral garlands fill the face in high relief. The bases repeat the foliage at each corner around a rounded transition and square plinth. Together, the capitals and bases suit formal porticos, entrance halls and other settings requiring strongly articulated architectural ornament. Each set is modelled, moulded and cast in our Seattle studio to suit the required shaft.
