About this piece
Cast capitals & bases combine paired spiral volutes with layered acanthus and palmette foliage. Deep channels define the upright leaves, while scalloped tips and overlapping tiers give the carving a clear, rhythmic projection. A small crest rises beneath the stepped abacus, balancing the broad scrolls above the rounded shaft transition. The restrained bases use smooth circular mouldings to support the more elaborate upper work. Modelled and cast in our Seattle studio, these capitals & bases suit classical porticoes, colonnades and restoration work.
