About this piece
Cast plaster capitals and bases are defined here by a densely modelled capital with deep acanthus leaves, curled foliage and inset rosettes. A spread-wing eagle beneath a crown occupies the centre, flanked by projecting horse and lion figures. Crisp feathering, manes and leaf edges give the relief a strongly sculptural profile beneath the moulded abacus. Cast in our Seattle studio, these capitals and bases suit formal libraries, reception rooms and historic restoration interiors with substantial column or pilaster work.
