About this piece
Cast plaster capitals & bases form a square architectural composition with a deeply modelled four-way palmette arranged around a plain central boss. A narrow mitred frame contains the foliate relief, while stepped mouldings establish the upper and lower transitions. Short runs of rounded beads punctuate the horizontal profiles without crowding the broad, unornamented margins. The balanced face and crisp projection suit classical interiors where capitals & bases need to read clearly from several viewpoints. Each set is modelled, moulded, cast and finished in our Seattle studio.
