About this piece
Cast plaster forms a deeply moulded fireplace surround with a rounded arch, inward-sweeping jambs and large coiled feet. Layered acanthus, shells, floral sprays and C-scrolls fill the spandrels beneath a restrained projecting shelf, while the fireplace opening remains smooth and strongly profiled. High relief and undercut edges produce clear shadow across the upper field and side ornament. Cast in our Seattle studio, the surround suits Rococo interiors, formal period rooms and fireplace restoration work. It is available in GFRG, GRC or GRP, or as the silicone mould.
